mindless ramblings

If you see this then it means that I have successfully moved my blog over to my own domain. Had a few problems registering my domain name over at Yahoo (only USD2.99/yr!), as well as the Shaw DNS servers taking quite a while to resolve to Rory’s hosting, but it’s fixed now.

Still trying to get the hang of Wordpress. It’s definitely much more powerful and user friendly as compared to Blogger. Even importing posts from your current blog is easy, with scripts provided for common services such as Blogger, Livejournal and Movable Type.

I’m still in the process of getting everything up and running, including trying how to move my Blogger-hosted pictures over to my current hosting. If only there was a Picasa plugin for Wordpress.

UPDATE: Found a plugin that allows me to upload pictures and arrange them in a gallery. Gotta fix the php file in order for it to render properly, but for now the image uploading is sufficient for my needs.
