I’ve found my $25 restaurant. The lucky one is Bistro Pastis, which is a French bistro. The menu seems pretty good, and I get the chance to finally try Coq Au Vin! The menu is below, I’m tempted to try the bouillabaisse too, but it will have to wait till next time.

Appys

  • Heart of Butter Lettuce Salad, Red Wine Vinaigrette
  • Tomato and Basil Soup
  • Shrimp Cocktail

Entrees

  • Bouillabaisse, with Scallops add $6.00
  • Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Pommes Sauteed, Peppercorn Sauce
  • Coq au Vin, Mushrooms, Double Smoked Bacon, Buttered Fettuccine

Dessert

  • Crème Caramel
  • Mousse au Chocolat
  • Rasberry Parfait

Instead of calling the restaurant up directly, I decided to try out this online reservation system called Opentable. Basically, restaurants which have signed up for the system replace their regular paper reservations with a little terminal which is linked to the Opentable system. It allows you to search and make reservations directly from home. Moreover, each reservation you honor (by turning up) gets you 100 loyalty points, and you get a $13 voucher when you accumulate 1000 points. Pretty nice setup if you ask me, I can’t wait!

ooo that sounds good, esp the dessert part. hehe. I took hinn to Dine Out for his bday last year at Cin Cin, supposedly a fancy schmancy Italian restuarant. It wasnt too bad but nothing spectacular I thought. The prob with DIne out is that while you are eating a set menu, u get to see what others are having ala cart and you feel you are getting the less worthy food or something. ahahaha. oh well. Let me know if this place is good. Im always looking for places to eat :P
