Not much to say about Group D’s games, but Iran really could have come away with a draw if not for their defence going crazy in the last few minutes. It’s Angola’s first time at the World Cup and it shows. They conceded a goal early on in the 4th minute to Portugal but grew in confidence as the game progressed. Nevertheless they never looked like scoring and they ended up losing to their colonial masters.

I’d expect Mexico and Portugal to easily qualify for the next round… unless something drastic happens.
