Hi,

Got this dvd player. We were happy for first 3-4 months. It was able to read all the movies I burned.

Since the last month. I burn some movies, all movies would play fine the very first time I gave it a try on the player, but would fail on any subsequent attempts. Actually the player mention it load the disc as a cd-rom instead of dvd-r.

All the previous disk I used many times in the past 3-4 are now doing the same thing.
Trying to clean all of the disks, try to use a cleaning disk to clean the device. Nothing changes.

Funny enough I can play any new one I burn at least one time.

Found this page looking for a firmware update to this thing. Damn, I'm stuck with a real lemon. It'll pixelate on me, then refuse to keep anything in it. I have to unplug it for a day to make it play anything again. So much for cheapest common denominator.

The thing I like about Jonker St is that all the food is made fresh and it tastes fresh. Owner is super friendly too, which is nice.

Ohhhhh... I must try this place. Prima Taste was not bad but I was more impressed with the concept than I was with the food. Hmmm... I haven't been to Tropika in a while either.

[...] The quality of Singaporean/Malaysian food in Vancouver is improving all the time, thanks to new upstarts like Prima Taste and good old favorites like Cafe D’Lite. Add another one to the list, and I definitely hope this one hangs around… because it is pretty damn good! [...]

Hi thanks for the comment! I've only been to the old Orchid Delight across from BCIT a long time ago, but I do remember it being quite good. As far as chicken rice goes, I think Cafe D'Lite on W Broadway & Trutch (near the Swiss Chalet) is great too. Their rice isn't anywhere as good as Prima, while their chicken is equally excellent.

I've never been to Tamarind Hill. it does sound like it is worth trying, and it's definitely on my list of restaurants to try next!
